An unregistered plan can be changed at any time to suit your needs. Once it is registered, a parenting plan can be changed by lodging a new plan. The court cannot change part of it - you have to withdraw the whole plan and lodge a new one. For this reason you should think very carefully about whether you feel the need for it to be registered. Once a plan is registered, parents can still be flexible as long as they are in agreement. Many parents find they are better off with an unregistered plan because they can change the arrangements as the children’s needs change.
