Hi there

I think perhaps that the important thing to note is that different pressure groups campaign for change in different ways.

I have already given my view of the methods of F4J, and as I say, I couldnt condone their actions, but I do support the central message that change is required.

What I would dearly love to see from all groups campainging on this issue is:

Consise, coherent argument about what they consider are the faults in the system and the flaws in the law;

Consise, considered suggestions as to the remedy for the faults and flaws.

Until the various pressure groups, either individually or collectively come up with these suggestions it is very hard for those who should consider the issues, to do so.

Hi Arnie

Bit confused - do you mean how many of the profession and the judiciary generally are prepared to join the debate, or do you mean how many would be prepared to do so here or on other online forums?

If it is the first, we often debate the state of the law and the system - and frequently now we have High Court judges prepared to stand up and be counted. For instance,Mr Justice Colleridge, Mr Justice Ryder and Mr Justice Mumby have all recently been reported in the press for making their veiws clear.

And even today, I have opened my Family Law (our monthly journal) to read that Lord Justice Wall said this at a conference in March:

"Our dedication, our goodwill, our passionate belief that our function is to address the best interests of vulnerable children and families is not being recognised by a government which, however much it pays lip service to the welfare of children, is frankly indifferent to disadvantaged children and young people who are the subject of proceedings, and simply refuses properly to fund the family justice system, relying instead on the fact that we have always got by in the face of government indifference, and will continue to do so".

If you meant how many would come on here, well with respect to wiki, this is not the place, and although the membership is enormous in on-line forum terms, the judiciary will be aware that they can reach a higher, wider audience by continuing to brief the press as to the dire situation in our courts both with the state of the law, and of the system itself.

I for one commend the judges for what they are doing and for aiming for the widest audience possible, and hope they manage to eventually embarrass government enough so that we do see change, and that we see it soon.

How about The Leader join the debate on Wikivorce

What is the male community on wikivorce?

I have updated this I shouldn't have used the leaders name

This time ,I have to disagree with you , Arnie .
In my opinion ,where laws are unfair , and judgements unjust then people have no option than to take "direct action"
Throughout history , groups , or individuals that have been treated unfairly have had to "make a stand" .
When people get desperate ,they take desperate measures .

Just to add one point ,
I do believe that the groups should come together more . Having several "splinter" groups does a cause no good at all .
I was involved in left wing politics , and I got fed up with all the little factions fighting each other ,instead of the real enemy IE capitalism .
I can't help wondering if these splinter groups are set up by the establishment , in an attempt to undermine the real cause . Not that I am a conspiricy theorist or anything ;)
