Im completing my daughter''s passport renewal form, and I dont have her father''s passport number, nor can I remember his place of birth.
As he isn''t great at picking up emails (or responding), and time is running out for me to get the application in and the passport back on time, I can''t wait 2 or 3 weeks for him to possibly reply. I have no contact phone number for him, and I can''t just pop round, as he lives in Australia.
Can I just put "not known" on the form, with an brief explanation, or do I absolutely need to submit these details (which are probably on her previous application)?
Thanks for your reply - although my flag shows Scotland, I now live south of the border and yes, passport applications are the same which ever country you are in in the UK.
Nope, not a flight risk at all - the passport is required so that my daughter can go on a school trip to France.
Hi there. I had to renew my sons a couple of years ago and you just need to leave his details off. I did the check and send service at the post office and the kind lady explained that many families are without both parents and is quite common to just have one parent on the form.
If it is a renewal and his details were on the original application, the passport office will have all the relevant information on file. You can also send a covering letter explaining your dilemma.
