Hello
Can anybody please tell me what happens at a CAFCASS assessment in your home?
Cafcass are assessing me on my ability to mother my own baby girl.
I don''t have a clue what to expect, can anyone enlighten me please?
They will come to see you with the baby and may ask you some questions. I''ve not had a CAFCASS assessment myself but I believe they are generally friendly. If the baby is fine then I''m sure it will be OK. They aren''t expecting you to be a perfect parent, just a good enough one.
There''d need to be a heck of a good reason to separate a mother from a baby. If things were actually that bad, I''d be expecting a local authority intervention, not CAFCASS.
I recently was assessed with my partner and its nothing to worry about, although I was surprised at how personal the questions can be, just be honest, they will observe the relationship between you and baby and it will be fine
Thank you all for your feedback.
And your reassurance
No there is no major concern or any concern, he''s kicking up a fuss because he''s annoyed and ''doesn''t want me to get 1 over on him.
