Excellent news! And a good example of how a shared residence order can work effectively hand-in-hand with a defined contact order.

Great news for you and your OH Emma! :)

My fiance has a final hearing in Jan although I''m highly suspecting that it will be postponed as CAFCASS have been asked to do a Section 7 to determine if a SRO should be granted and they are to issue the report by mid Dec but the interviews haven''t even taken place yet.

xx

CJ my section 7 interview took place 6 days before the report was due to be filed. They always leave it till the last minute because they''re so overworked.

Hi Emma, how did the interviews go as my fiance can''t help but be anxious about the whole thing despite knowing that he has nothing to worry about.

At the last hearing the ex continued to allege "welfare concerns" in an attempt to limit contact at weekends but then happily asks my fiance if he wants extended contact during half term in order to same her money on childcare!

My fiance knows that his ex doesn''t really think there is welfare concerns and we are obviously annoyed that we''ve had to request for CAFCASS to get involved just to try & draw a line under the issues. Plus the children will be interviewed because of the ex''s mind games which isnt nice.

Well....My partner had to go to their offices mainly as we live a good distance away. He was "grilled" for about an hour, then I had to go in with him. I will say we were asked about our relationship, how I would deal with a step child all sorts really but it was fine.

I have read mixed reviews on Cafcass, but our officer was really good - she took on concerns seriously, but she also saw through the rubbish, e.g. made up DV allegations, disproved by police reports, the first report wasnt favourable to mum and pointed out her issues with dad and said that this had influence her blocking contact.

I will say she interviewed his daughter as well, and was very perceptive, they cut through the flannel, they can spot coaching and they use things like "expressions exercises" to guage the childs feelings

Overall it wasnt a bad experience for us and it meant that a professional which the court listened to was supporting the contact we were hoping for.

Its been a rough 18 months but well worth it :)
