Assuming I don''t get all the contact I request at my second hearing,do I just ask for a review hearing for 3 months later at the end so as to increase contact?

Or am I supposed to make a brand new application in 3 months?

Also the court papers are allowing 30 mins for the hearing. If we don;t finish in time will it just run over for however long is required?

What kind of hearing is the second one? Is it a review?

Thanks for asking Fiona.

Had my first Directions hearing Dec 15th.Contact order given and case adjourned for mediation.
Had case re-listed after failed attempts to start mediation.
Mediation did eventually take place whilst we await the hearing tomorrow.

The court papers state:
''The Directions hearing for this matter will be heard by this court......''

So not a review hearing?

They are allowing 30 mins for the case.

As I said, wondering do I ask for a review hearing to increase contact if not all contact requested is awarded and ask for it in 3 months time?
Also can the hearing run over if more time is needed?

Thanks:)

In that case if no agreement can be reached the court will make Directions how to proceed. The judge will decide what information is required to assist the court in making a decision and set a timetable for future hearings. He/she may make interim orders and appointments for reviews, but no final ruling will be made until a final hearing.

Of course if agreement is reached any time during proceedings the judge can make an order "by consent." Most cases settle that way.

If necessary a case may over run but family courts are busy places so you need to stay child focused and be prepared to get across your points particularly about interim contact in a short amount of time.

Def no agreement will be reached. My ex has been completely unwilling in mediation.

Is there any chance I may come away from the hearing with no increase in contact?

Current contact is alternate weekends with Sat staying contact plus every wed 12.30-5pm.

I am putting in for every friday night, swapping wed afternoons for overnight as can''t keep taking time off work.May ask for the sunday night on my weekend.( I had two nights for most of 2011)

I''m expecting the court to be reasonable and at least give me the wed night swap.
My ex agreed the wed swap at mediation which I can prove but she then retracted this at a later date.
However I think her arguments against more staying contact will be weakened.
