Section 7 Help: Urgent was created by StunnedDad
I have a section 7 requested by the court for my 2 children. I am keen to prepare for the interviews by CAFCASS .

Any pointers/guides/resources. Am keen to highlight the right things and not sound like a bitter person Am keen to keep it child centric as well.

Would prefer if there are experts who have experience in this field who can take some time to help me out. Would be much appreciated. My solicitor hasnt really been very helpful in this matter unfortunately.

Also want to understand the allegations that have been raised against me and mine against my Ex. What should be mentioned and what should be avoided. And how should be countered ?

Can someone help walk me through this maze.

I've just received the cafcass report today.
My 11yo was aware he was going to be interviewed and I just encouraged him to tell the truth.

Ex told cafcass I am controlling, would have told our son what to say and I was abusive.
Said my motivation was money as we are also going through financials.

I kept my cool with cafcass and just focused on my son and what's best for him.
Kept to the facts and did no mud slinging.

I kind of knew she would try every trick in the book with some quite strong claims.

Cafcass recommendation?
Our son should live with me and visit his mum alternate weekends.

Hi,

Could i ask what did you \"ask for\" in the initial court case. Did you ask for full custody . I am only asking for half the custody. I want the kids to have their mother as much as I loathe her. Its in the best interests of the kids I am told.

my STBX has mudslinged against me in the safe guarding report even though I tried to keep that cafcass discussion squeaky clean abou the kids. The cafcass officer wrote down what she claimed. And hence the position we are in.

Another of my friend also had full custody of the children with 3 weekends to the mother. Am keen to secure a more favourable result. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Have you had fact finding yet? or is it going straight to final hearing?

In my case, after two non-compliance from ex, fact finding was discharged. Court ordered S7.
My interview was very general and more like a informal chat. I don't understand to date the need for Section 7 report as the report had same allegations as my ex has been telling social services, court etc. She made about 40 allegations ranging from i banged her head to i am a Pedophile to i raped her. She also filed a Police complaint that I raped her 2 days before my interview.

Conclusion -

Cafcass had no suggestions to make as they said stories from both parties was very different and left it to court to decide. They withdrew themselves.

I am so angry they stopped contact for 8 months until Section 7 report is prepared but the report is complete rubbish.
