So, thanks to all you amazing people that have today helped me secure 15% maintenance from my ex!
He didnt contest at all, so me thinks he knew he was underpaying.
Anyway - so currently is 15% of net - is it, and when, is it changing to 12% of gross??

Yes, child maintenance is changing and it would be good if CM Options can confirm when. I think I read somewhere recently the new computer system is supposed to be up and running in October but initially the gross income scheme will be for new cases and existing cases transferred later.

The current CSA rate for one child is 15% of the non resident parent''s income minus an allowance for any children living in their household and deductions for overnight contact with the NRP.

Hi Pippy,
As far as I know it is 12% of gross income, but I''ve not been able to find out what this means in terms of pension contributions etc

Hi

I am pleased that you were able to discuss a new child maintenance payment with your ex-partner. The current rate is 15% net and the new rate will be 12% calculated gross.

However I can confirm that the new statutory child maintenance system will go live later this year and existing CSA cases will be notified when they may be affected by this new system although it is envisaged that it will take some time to enrol people onto this new system.

In the meantime, parents should continue to make child maintenance payments as usual and if they have any queries on their case to contact the CSA.
