but my point is the courts are unlikely to see it as being more important than contact and the fact she was a deserter will have little impact on court proceedings.

so when the inevitable happens again & Markp's son is once again let down by his deserting mother, or treated poorly by her new jockey, will the courts be held accountable?

your right fiona i have no idea about divorce & the courts, i never thought i'd need any knowledge, but i married a quitter with no values.

What i do know is that Mark is the main carer as he was deserted, he is not trying to stop contact, he is merely stating that after desertion his ex's demands do not suit both himself & his 10 year old son. Personally i would agree some contact if she loves her son so much why won't she have him on sundays?

She deserted her son for a legover & is now threatening both of them with court action if her demands are not met.

I have been led to believe courts rule in the childrens best interests, i'd let them rule on it,its probably an idle threat in any case. Why not make her fight for her contact like so many men have to?

In my eyes 1 good parent is better than 1 good & 1 bad parent.
