Hi There,

I''m currently trying to get PR for my 3 children which at the moment is being frustrated by Cafcass, and the STB Ex is lying through her teeth to prevent it.
On the other hand she has applied for CS which is currently being calculated by the CSA.

My questions are:

1. Am I required to make payments (when I receive the figures) prior to the outcome of the "Parental responsibility" application which is yet to be listed?

2. I am not named on one of my children''s BC, would this affect the outcome of my PR application or the STB Ex''s CS payment?

Apologies if this has already been posted as so much is happening right now and I''m trying not to fall in arrears.

Any response will be much appreciated.

Thanks Guys.

1. Yes

2. the whole point of you gaining parental responsibility is presumably to be recognised legally in your children''s lives - which would include having you named on the birth certificate. You can slow things down with child maintenance by claiming you''re not the father to one or more of your children and thus setting the wheels in motion for a DNA test. However, this will do nothing other than prolong the inevitable and assuming you are the father, you will have to make back dated payments to the date they first contact you.

In short, as long as you don''t deny paternity on first contact with the CSA, you will be required to pay maintenance. Not having parental responsibility does not exempt you from paying maintenance for a child that is biologically yours, unless the child has been adopted.

Thanks for confirming my thoughts so quickly, i just want to know how much they are going to leave me to live on as my buddy in the payroll dept said the csa have started snooping already.

All 3 kids are mine and the 2hr every fortnight is doing my head in which is why I need to get the PR so as to increase the contact time.

I reckon from the response I''d be better off agreeing to the contributions to help the PR and contact cases.

there is a calculator on their website - but for 3 children it''s 25% of your salary after deductions have been made.
