just made application to court for indirect contact (for a start) with my kids i hav''nt seen for nearly 5 yrs. how long before i get a court date

It depends on how busy your court is but it''s usually about 4 weeks.

You should have a copy of your application returned to you, with your court listing within a couple of weeks (depending on how busy your local Court is), plus papers to be served on the respondent if you''re doing that yourself. The Court date itself is usually, again depending on how busy the Court is, 6-8 weeks after the application has been filed.
