I agree with boysmum.

If you were still together your son would have gone regardless, so why cant he because you are separated? You approached it with respect and offered your ex an alternative, which he has still failed to respond to. With regards to the phone calls i would suggest ex doesnt make verbal agreements with the child as neither of you are aware what may crop up and that way your son wont know when his dad doesnt call.

WOW ...just read through these post...to say im shocked at a couple of the negative replies is a total understatement...what more was she meant to do....obs the person giving the negative replies has had a bad experience..and thats sad ..but were here for support not to put our anger onto others..not always easy i know...the kids are what matters and in my view if the father had an issue ..then surely its not with the child..so why take it out on him through not having contact..little childish i think....:(

Just an up date and a thank you for some of the replies. Ex has sent a text message it simply says no I have plans. If the roles were reversed I would be bending over backwards to have my kids as much as I possibly could. :,-(
