Can i stop contact with my ex''s parents?

They have been bullying me for 5 years and i have kept written hate mail from them.. now my partner have split up i really dont want them to have any contact with our son - of cause my ex is having full contact, it''s just his parents.

Hi,

It''s very hard to help with such little details.

My ex does not have any contact with our children, but I have ensured that our children have regular (weekly) contact with their paternal family and personally, I feel it has a very positive effect on our children.

Why don''t you want them having contact with your child?

If it is difficult for you to have a relationship with them, maybe your ex could take the child to see them in his contact time? I personally feel it is very important for children to know their extended family.

Take care.

Unless the grandparents are not abusive to your son there is no reason why you should not let the children have a meaningful relationship with their grandparents.

As adults we should know better than to let our adult issues poison young hearts.

i uderstand your replys.. last couple of times my son has come back saying what they have said about me and he has become very upset about it. They are very hatefull and i''m worried about the damage that they''ll do - my son gets upset about going over there.

Welcome to Wikivorce.

How do the grandparents behave towards the children?
