If someone does a lot of reading from different sources about parental alienation without rose tinted glasses they will know there are many different opinions, but not that much in the way of general agreement even about the definition.

Instead of Godwin''s Law it seems inevitable that, given enough time, in any discussion on Wikivorce someone with no training or qualification makes a comparison with the the traits mental disorders and looses the argument. ;)

Mental illness and disorders are notoriously difficult to diagnose and the use of diagnostic tools is only valid if administered by a suitably qualified and experienced clinician under controlled and licensed conditions.

Guernsey Guy makes the point better than I;

I have been reading up extensively on neuro-surgery recently. I feel that after quite literally, *days* of study, and despite not a little scorn from so-called professionals, the time has now come to carry out my first practical experiment.

Unfortunately, my wife left me when I advised her of my plans, and even the cat won''t come in when I called him. As a result, I have regrettably decided to perform this first procedure on myself.

I have purchased all of the relevant tools (hand mirror, scalpel, soap and towels).

Don''t you let the naysayers put you off Sucker. I will be back tomorrow to report on my progress.

Meanwhile, I trust that your first experiment will be as successful as mine and that you will have sectioned yourself by close of business today.

Madam,
Go ahead and mock me. :)In the meantime I will offer support to Lissylou and her partner. Maybe I am wrong, but at least I try.

With all due respect I am not understanding this: "he has always had his children at his mum''s house."

Now "For about the past 6 months, his daughter has refused her 1 night per month overnight contact and not given any reason as to why."

At whose house?

This may just provide the answer to your problem!

Best wishes

is the daughter still going around to nan and grandads during the day?or is she not doing any of it day or night?because there is a big difference on how big the problem is.if she''s still happy to go of the days and is just wanting to go home of an evening that''s not that serious a problem.
all the best
hrh xx

disney,

I am not mum bashing. Parental Alienation is done by RPs and sometimes NRPs who can be women or men. Parental Alienation is a valid argument. Discussions should be done on this topic. Feel free to engage. Simply accusing me of "women bashing" is not helpful.

"Because they don''t want to" = "Independent Thinker" perhaps?
