Waiting until legal aid is no longer available might not be such a great idea if you were married and your ex-wife doesn''t have the means to pay a solicitor.

Under the Legal Aid, Sentencing and Punishment of Offenders Act 2012 there is provision for a new section to be added to the Matrimonial Causes Act 1973 so that one party to divorce or financial proceedings can be ordered to pay an amount to cover the other party''s legal services instead of Legal Aid. See s49(2);
