Topic started by best for my kids
been to judge twice, I have 1 week holiday d feb half term,
the court order says one week starting saturday, returning sat, but this can be changed to sunday, but boys must be back by 12 am if long hall or 6pm if in europe.
but time before and after holidays must follow normal pattern.
I am taking them to south africa but the problem comes as it is my thursday so we could fly sfter school, but friday is an inset day but ex weekend so I asked her to swap friday with her as it is my weekend on return so I keep boys till monday morning, but I would give her the boys on our return sunday morning, but she says we can have the friday but must give her another day as she is losing out she does yhis everytime to gain extra days how can I stop her.
as every holiday is a night mare to organise and by the time we get to booking the flights they have gone to sily money.
any ideas

Welcome to Wikivorce.

Is it unreasonable that if you have the children on what would be her day as set out in the Contact Order, that she requests that you return the children on the Sunday after the holiday?

She could be downright awkward and insist that the children aren''t made available for the week''s holiday until the Saturday, as per the Contact Order, but instead has agreed that you have the children for the Friday, thus allowing you to depart straight from school on the Thursday, meaning you have a total of 10 nights with your children, as opposed to the 7 as set out in the CO.

this happens every holiday, the extra holidays were given to me to make my 50/50 care and the judge said we had to be flexable, I would still have 8 nights without the swap, but the children are be coming very angry about her spoiling there holidays as it is a 14 hour flight each way and a chance to see there grandparents.
But when you put yourself before your kids it is sad
