I did actually consider the whole ''maybe it is just her trying to play us off against each other'' scenario but I myself have been witness to him shouting at her whilst being inches away from her face (that was while we were together and needless to say I intervened as he told her that ''she was making him look like a f*****g c**t!'').

Unfortunately, MIL and myself do not really get on. I thought that we did until the split and I rang her almost daily to see how STBX was (as I was under the impression that we could make things work and was concerned about him), but she ran off to him telling him that I was fishing for information. She also then proceeded to tell me to my face that she has never really been able to consider me as a friend.

My son still wants to visit and spend time with them both, but my daughter has decided that she doesn''t want to go down there at all this week, which includes Sat.

I did have a brief text exchange with STBX last night about the incident and the long shot is that he believes that his actions were justified due to daughters behaviour and her lies.

I have also heard my sons side of the story and his sounds very similar to daughters version of events.

Nothing justifies dumping a 12 year outside a busy bar. Whether or not she was lying and out of order it was his responsibility to deal with it. That''s what parents do. End of.

Hi Kazza this is really awful.I think the only question you need to ask yourself really is who is the adult here your daughter is 12 it doesnt matter what she said or did when she was with her dad (obviously within reason) at the end of the day she is a little girl going through a traumatic experience thank goodness she has you it is unforgiveable that your husband just dumped her.....he seriously needs to grow up.
