School meals

My little one will not eat any of the hot dinners. The schoolhave commented and they are worried- wont even try the puds....

I have been paying for them but have decided to put on packed lunches as the school have advised. I am sure can find enough healthy foods to put inthat will actually be eaten!!!

Ex says he wants a reduction in csa to cover the extra money he will have to spend as he will have to provide a packed lunch twice a week......

Now has said it has to be a mutual deicison and wants to arrange a meeting with the school to discuss....

What on earth do i do?

At my kids school you can have school dinners on certain days but not on the others, so could you do packed lunches on your days and leave your little one having school dinners on your exs days?

Although actually if the school are concerned there would be no harm in going in for a meeting aswell as your ex can hear the schools concerns direct from them

Is your daughter a picky eater at home? Or unsettled at all, and how is her appetite when she is at home?

I wouldn''t worry too much about her not eating the school dinners, at least with a packed lunch you know exactly what she has eaten that day, both in terms of food and the quantity. Do you think a meeting to discuss her not eating the school meals is required - it could be she just doesn''t like the cooking?

I would give him £1.50 per packed lunch, and tell him that should cover it.

What kind of food does your little one like?

Have they told you why they don''t want to eat at school - is it that they have no-one to sit with, is there any bullying or are there other activities going on that they want to do instead of eating lunch (my nephews lose themselves in play time they have simply forgotten to eat!)

Always been a fussy eater and he will only eat with me as we just sit there until he does basically and we have a limited but healthy menu.....

But if I m not around, there is no chance.

The school have said he just sits there.

I can fill box with enough - carrotsticks, apple, cheese chunks - things I know he will eat.

His dad said he cant afford to pay for 2 packed lunches a week, but tbh I cant afford to reduce CSA - I get £30 a week and pay for everything - i always have. He got the FMH, because I didnt fight it as had to get away from him, have always paid childcare costs on my own, bought all his uniform (bar a couple of polos his dad bought) I even had to buy a new car seat for him as he was using one that you couldnt strap little one in it was that small.

I would be tempted to let your ex sort out what he does on his days with the school. Does he not already have a reduction in the amount of CM he pays to cover some of the expense of having your daughter to stay?

Yes reduced as per CSA rules.

I am just wary becasue he is saying I cant make decision on my own, but he never goes near the school becasue his mum does all the dropping off and picking up becasue he works shifts, so he has not actually heard the concerns direct from the school, only from me.

If he did speak to them I would hope hewould see sense. Put it this way one of the teachers started crying telling me how little tum was rumbling and so gave some bread which was wolfed down. Feel like something out of Oliver''s era.
