I would like to ask a question. Due to changes in my job, I need to change the town within England, which is about 100 miles away where I currently live with my kids. Please note the current family home is in England and the new home will also be within England. Am I allowed to move kids within England? Would ex-partner request to court that "kids should brought back to family home"? at present ex-partner is living 15 miles away from the family home.

My 2nd question is about definition of "Jurisdiction". The reason I asked about it, court will not allow to take kids away from Jurisdiction. So I am confused between either "Jurisdiction is County such as Lincolnshire/ Cambridgeshire" or Jurisdiction is state such as "England or Scotland". Please advise.

Jurisdiction is where the court has power so a move within the country won't be an issue form that point of view.

Have you spoken to your ex about it? How will contact be maintained? Will you be happy to meet or share the time and financial costs of bringing them back to stop at other parents etc? How old are kids?

Thanks for your quick response.

Ex does not agree on that, but I have no choice as need money to meet financial commitments. Child contact will be maintained via daily call and one weekly meeting as it use to be.

Kids school will be changing to new place, so ex has to visit them. It will be additional 90 minutes drive for the ex.

Is there any application which I can make in the court requesting for moving house due to job changes? normally how long will it take to resolve by court?
