My fiance''s ex is terrible for wanting to discuss things in front of the children - whether it''s innocent stuff or things relating to contact. My fiance has asked her on several occassions in person and via text to stop doing this and she agreed. However a few weeks ago when my fiance collected the children, the ex turned around and said "when are we next in court again?" I asked my fiance where the children were when she said this and he said they were standing right next to him.

I''m not sure why they do this, is it just a case of they can''t help themselves or is it a ploy to try and make the father''s look bad in front of the children?! I''m waiting for the children to turn around and say "what is CSA?" or "what is a solicitor?".

When we saw the children a few weeks ago they came out wearing glasses that they have to apparently wear all the time now due to an eye condition. Again my fiance knew nothing of this appointment.

In relation to the school, my fiance went and had a chat with the headteacher when the ex tried to change their surname at school to hers. She was unsuccessful in this, which was good and the school is aware that unfortunately their relationship is a strained one and that this involves regular hearings. The school has been good in keeping my fiance informed of school stuff through ''parent mail'' and he also receives their reports, however when it comes to things like school events i.e. tickets for Christmas nativity play they give everything to mum so therefore if my fiance wants to go he either has to ask mum for tickets (which fuels her control) or he has to miss out. It''s always the latter as mum has never agreed to hand any over. On one incident he asked the school to put some tickets aside for him but they refused saying he''d had to go through the ex.

Like you rightly said, this all stems from one persons inability/refusal to communicate and attempt to belittle and eradicate the other. My fiance has now got to take the ex back to court due to a breakdown in the contact order as the ex refusing to discuss dates.

He''s dreading this, not because he''s worried but because he is highly embarressed to have to sit in front of a judge less than 2 months after the order was issued to say it''s broken down for the 3rd time!! :S
