Hello all again.

I will be brief this time.

My children''s school refuses to give me information about when they will be moved to another school by their mother.

We have shared PR.

Do they have the right to do this?

I wouldnt have thought so.

When things were particularly bad with me and stbxh i asked the school not to allow him to pick my daughter up as there was violence involved and they told me he had PR and they couldnt refuse.

Have you asked them why they have refused? Has your ex said something to implicate you in a less favourable way?

I would say providing you can prove PR they have no rights to refuse you. Try ringing the local LEA and having this confirmed and make a complaint.

Thank you for your reply.

I am really stunned by the way I am being treated by the school and how they are openly lying, accusing me of actually asking them to give out private information about my ex!

According to them, me asking if the children have been already enrolled to another school it is PRIVATE INFORMATION that they RIGHTFULLY did not give out and won;t give out in the future either!!

I am speechless..

I''ve replied to your PM.

Contact the local education authority who deals with school places. They should be able to help you.

This is a family law matter. There is legal obligation for schools to provide certain information to parents, such as annual reports, but they risk falling foul of the law by giving any information relating to the movements of third parties.

Thank you for your reply Fiona.

I didn''t quite understand what means: they risk falling foul of the law by giving any information relating to the movements of third parties.

You mean that because she is involved in the kids moving school I should not be informed about that?
