Who should pay for childcare? was created by DoctorFoster
Non resident parent has the children overnight on one midweek after school . Who is responsible for the after school childcare costs? The non resident parent or should it come out of child maintenance?

Does anyone pleasse have any views? I''m not trying to defend a corner, but would love some objective viewpoints to decide what is best to do

What is the agreement between you regarding that one night? What time does Dad collect the children? Would you have to use childcare anyway that afternoon of the children weren''t going to Dad''s?

Hi,
My own thought is that if it is on ''your'' night then you should expect to pay for the afterschool care.

My husband had a similar issue with his ex. She wanted him to pay her to "childcare" their children on the contact change over day. He was happy pay for registred child care or collect from school (she wouldnt agree to either of these options) if it was needed but as she didnt work it was unreasonable to expect him to pay!

NRP has them overnight on a mid week night and takes them to school the next morning.
NRP says their time should start after they finish work at 5pm.
NRP will not pick up from school and will not approach employer regarding variation to their hours to permit this. Children would like NRP to pick them up from school to spend time with them rather than go to after school club
RP does all other working day pick up and drop off from either school or after school club (at their cost)
