No I''m afraid not - unless anyone knows different - he could give them money if he wanted to - my ex didn''t support either of my kids - they both got full grants, bursaries, loans due to my low income.
The law is unfair sometimes as you and I still need to support them when they''re not at uni and they need the financial support too.
He definitely does not have to. Both my kids at Uni(22&20) and from 2016/7 maintenance grant scrapped by government in favour of yet another loan to add to all the other student loans the kids already have.
Not only that, eldest is finishing this year so legally will be 2 adults in the house so council tax goes up 25%.
I have been separated just over two years, been to court twice, in heavy debt and after almost 30 years of marriage was the last thing I expected.
P.S husband on 4 holidays a year, lots of eating out, does not really bother with kids.
However my time will come, I have to believe it and stay strong.
Thank you for your reply. It''s what I expected to hear. Today I received a
petition for divorce from my husband so I am now hoping that I will get some money in the settlement which will pay the fees instead.
