Hello. I have a daughter with some issues requiring medication. Nothing major behaviourly but still requiring medication.
Since the beginning I have believe the medication and dose over suppresses her and is having a very negative effect on her schooling and socially..
However my ex refuses to discuss it or anything with me and the Doctor (who has been told I am a demon) says she will not discuss with me directly, I should discuss it with my ex. So I am in stalemate. No one will listen to me or hear my concerns, which are genuine.
Someone has told me the Doctors position infringes my parental rights. What can I do to get my views discussed?
I am not saying I am right (I am not a Doctor) but I want someone to consider my input and possibly trial an alternative.
Very frustrating having a serious concern and belief things could be much better for her, but then only hitting a brick wall.
If there's no court order preventing you from doing so, then there's no reason why you can not discuss your child's medical concerns with a GP - you may need to consider making an appointment with a different GP. You would still need to inform your ex after the appointment that you have spoken with the GP, and share any relevant information.
Any medical treatment, such as regular mediation must be a decision that is made jointly between you and your ex.
