Abandonment of the marital home? was created by icequeen922
Hi,

So my husband and I have been sleeping in separate bedrooms for a month now. Every night I hear him talk to woman he probably met online because she has a very thick Chinese accent and I see him watching youtube videos about China. (I met him online too and I'm from the Philippines). I am divorcing him because I cannot bear being a second distant stepmother to a very entitled spoiled teenager son of his. We have a mortgage both in our names. Can I move out without getting myself in trouble like can he accuse me of abandoning the marital home even though we have both agreed already that there is no longer a marriage? I'm afraid he will get a court order granting him the house or granting him alimony if he loses his job. We are both self sufficient. He gets paid more than I do but I don't need his money. I'm just afraid of the implications if I move out before he refinances the house to his name. The problem is he does not want to also give me any of the equity because in his words, \"I'm the one who wanted the divorce\" which is factually bullcrap.
