We were friends for four days and through the friendship had sex.she travel to Lebanon and We both agreed that we will continue our relationship if She comes back and none of us is married ,before she left. She spend three years there. I married before she came back. She lure me to have sex even though she new I am married the very day she arrives. We separated and in three months time call to inform me that she is pregnant for me. She has taken me to court for breach of promise to marry and damages. What should I do?

What country do you live in?

I would suggest you seek legal advice from a lawyer in your country as the laws will be different to those in England & Wales. Its a bit of a mess, really - you've managed to get someone else pregnant shortly after marrying your wife. At some point you will ahve to tell your wife what has happened, and take some responsibility for your actions - the woman didn't pregnant on her own!

I hope you can work things out with your wife.

I think that since the agreement was conditional, then there will be no responsibility from you as from your father.

There will be no action on breach of promise unless a contract to marry has been made. But you should discuss this matter with your wife to save your marriage if you love her.

It depends on jurisdiction. Breach of promise was abolished in the English/Welsh jurisdiction in the 1970s - I think the notorious footballer George Best has the dubious distinction of being the last to be so sued.

Most jurisdictions, on the other hand, will have some form of child support enorcement and many have arrangements (via REMO) to collect child support from other countries.
