I''m in the process of divorce and am currently going through mediation. I was married in 2005 but my first two children were born in 2002 & 2003, my youngest was born in 2007. We''ve been separated since October 2010.

I contacted their schools to get their reports and attendance records. They informed the mother who told them that I didn''t. The school has asked her to prove that I don''t - a letter from her solicitor and me to prove that I do.

Is there anything I can do to prove either way? I''d like to just provide whatever evidence I need to my solicitor so all they will need to do is to write up the letter. Will the marriage and birth certificates prove this? I am named on all their certificates.

The schools also said that I was no longer on the emergency contact list. Am I within my rights to get this changed as well?

Thanks.

If you are on the birth certificate then you have PR,

I would think just producing a copy would be proof enough for a school.

My partner has had to provide a copy of the birth certificate as proof of PR. School and the GP accepted that as proof.
