Joint mortgage problem

I have a joint mortgage with my ex partner (we were not married). Will have now split and he wants me to move out. The only problem is that when he spoke to our mortgage company they told him that because they have taken over the management of the company we originally obtained our mortgage from, they cannot make any changes ie. take my name off the mortgage. Even though it is a joint mortgage (part rent part buy), he has always paid the mortgage and the rent so he will still be able to make the payments if the mortgage is just in his name. Has anyone had a simillar experience who could offer me some advice. He spoke to his solicitor who said that there is nothing we can do.

It's up to the mortgage company if they will release you and take your name off the mortgage.

Since this increases their level of risk it's understandable that they wont want to.

Only alternative is for your ex to get a mortgage elsewhere in his sole name.
