What are we each entitled to in our divorce settlement?

What does the law say about how to split the house, how to share pensions and other assets, and how much maintenance is payable.

What steps can we take to reach a fair agreement?

The four basic steps to reaching an agreement on divorce finances are: disclosure, getting advice, negotiating and implementing a Consent Order.

What is a Consent Order and why do we need one?

A Consent Order is a legally binding document that finalises a divorcing couple's agreement on property, pensions and other assets.

hello,
i had 2nd child welfare hearing 2nd april, and the sheriff i got said that what was agreed at the first one is not valid[1st sheriff said if dd did not want to see dad she was to tell him over the phone which she did]the 2nd sheriff decided that there would be 2 supervised visits for 2 hours apiece one in may and the second in june.
I have to find out the nearest one to my home and email it to my solicitor and she will do the rest.
my stbx wanted to see dd over the weekend as i had to take her up to scotland with me but the sheriff said no,the sheriff said that it would be too much for dd as for 20 months there was no contact and that there has only been 3 weeks of indirect[fone]contact
i have to be with dd when she has the supervised contact[this was a shock to me as i didnt ask for to be with her]
we go back to court 18th june for the last child welfare hearing and at that time it will be settled.
we also got the date for the proof hearing and the pre trial hearing, pre trial is 26th august[which i dont need to go to]the proof is 23rd september
my solicitor says that come august hes confident everything will be settled and there should be no need for the court in september.its only set for a one day trial so come the end of summer i should be divorced
