What are we each entitled to in our divorce settlement?

What does the law say about how to split the house, how to share pensions and other assets, and how much maintenance is payable.

What steps can we take to reach a fair agreement?

The four basic steps to reaching an agreement on divorce finances are: disclosure, getting advice, negotiating and implementing a Consent Order.

What is a Consent Order and why do we need one?

A Consent Order is a legally binding document that finalises a divorcing couple's agreement on property, pensions and other assets.

Hi,

My OH has both an Ancillary Relief order and contact order with his ex-wife. Both were granted a year ago. Both she has flouted. We need to go back to court to have them both enforced. He will be self-repping now. I have 2 questions.

a) What sort of application must we make to the court about having the ancillary relief order enforced? She agreed to do 2 things, so she doesn't need to give OH any money, just do what she promised to do.

b) Can OH make both applications to our local court? He had to drive 300 miles round trip for every court date before as she had moved back to where her parents live when she left. Seems only fair that she should make the effort now as she's the one who has ignored the court orders!

Any help would be very gratefully received.
