What are we each entitled to in our divorce settlement?

What does the law say about how to split the house, how to share pensions and other assets, and how much maintenance is payable.

What steps can we take to reach a fair agreement?

The four basic steps to reaching an agreement on divorce finances are: disclosure, getting advice, negotiating and implementing a Consent Order.

What is a Consent Order and why do we need one?

A Consent Order is a legally binding document that finalises a divorcing couple's agreement on property, pensions and other assets.

Previously paid 8k privately whilst working on a temporary contract even though my total Earnings were only 4k. He is in a well paid secure job??

Has your ex made an application to the court? If so, he is seeking an order for something or other and also that the costs be dealt with by the court at a later date.

We are going through the normal Ancillary Relief proceedings. Lots of delays due info not being provided his part. Dont understand this order or whatever re costs. Who will be liable to pay if he doesnt pay his own? As stated before I have already paid substantial costs and on legal aid.
