What are we each entitled to in our divorce settlement?

What does the law say about how to split the house, how to share pensions and other assets, and how much maintenance is payable.

What steps can we take to reach a fair agreement?

The four basic steps to reaching an agreement on divorce finances are: disclosure, getting advice, negotiating and implementing a Consent Order.

What is a Consent Order and why do we need one?

A Consent Order is a legally binding document that finalises a divorcing couple's agreement on property, pensions and other assets.

Hi guys

we got the nisi back in May 08 and we`ve agreed everything amicably so now we`re at the stage of applying to court with the Consent Order.

We`ve had the consent application drawn up and checked we`ve both signed it and now I have to file it to court with D81.

I`m thinking allI have to do is submit the application with form D81 is that right and how much detail is required on D81. The asset of the house will look quite high compared to him getting the car but I put £46k in from my sole named house sale do I explain that and do I include CM in my income and break that down too.

Any help/info would be much appreciated.

thanks in advance

Sue
