What are we each entitled to in our divorce settlement?

What does the law say about how to split the house, how to share pensions and other assets, and how much maintenance is payable.

What steps can we take to reach a fair agreement?

The four basic steps to reaching an agreement on divorce finances are: disclosure, getting advice, negotiating and implementing a Consent Order.

What is a Consent Order and why do we need one?

A Consent Order is a legally binding document that finalises a divorcing couple's agreement on property, pensions and other assets.

In that case you may have grounds to set aside the order but you really do need legal advice how to proceed.

I have now sought legal advice and I have been advised I have grounds for appeal and so does my daughter and also a case to take into account Estoppel Law!

So more confused than ever and worried sick. Does anyone have any advice how traumatic it is. The Solicitor advised my whole future well being hung in the balance from such an unfair order and should proceed with an appeal so at least stress would only be for a few years!!
