What are we each entitled to in our divorce settlement?

What does the law say about how to split the house, how to share pensions and other assets, and how much maintenance is payable.

What steps can we take to reach a fair agreement?

The four basic steps to reaching an agreement on divorce finances are: disclosure, getting advice, negotiating and implementing a Consent Order.

What is a Consent Order and why do we need one?

A Consent Order is a legally binding document that finalises a divorcing couple's agreement on property, pensions and other assets.

Hi All,

two days of final hearing for financials in divorce came and went, with a further day to come to conclude matters.

A few things were said by one party under oath that have since proven to be untrue. A statement with evidence to show that was filed and served, but the other party is refusing permission for this new statement to be produced in court on the final day.

How can this be overcome, so that the statement is presented to the judge?

Thanks a lot in advance for any advice.

I''m no lawyer but...! Surely you just ensure it is served on the other side and lodged at Court, then just take a copy? Or am I missing something?
