What are we each entitled to in our divorce settlement?

What does the law say about how to split the house, how to share pensions and other assets, and how much maintenance is payable.

What steps can we take to reach a fair agreement?

The four basic steps to reaching an agreement on divorce finances are: disclosure, getting advice, negotiating and implementing a Consent Order.

What is a Consent Order and why do we need one?

A Consent Order is a legally binding document that finalises a divorcing couple's agreement on property, pensions and other assets.

Hello,
Does anyone have any suggestion about how to deal with not meeting a date of an aspect of an item in a Consent Order?
I need a little more time in order to arrange the transfer of a joint mortgage into my name solely.
Thanks,
Andrew

Write a covering letter to your ex & / or their sol.
Explain that you have every intention of complying with the order as soon as possible, but due to ...'whatever the hold up is' ... You will be unable to complete by ...'agreed date.' Shouldn't be a major hassle if you are being honest & tell them when you can realistically comply.
