What are we each entitled to in our divorce settlement?

What does the law say about how to split the house, how to share pensions and other assets, and how much maintenance is payable.

What steps can we take to reach a fair agreement?

The four basic steps to reaching an agreement on divorce finances are: disclosure, getting advice, negotiating and implementing a Consent Order.

What is a Consent Order and why do we need one?

A Consent Order is a legally binding document that finalises a divorcing couple's agreement on property, pensions and other assets.

Dear All.

my ex included in his evidence for his stay to our divorce in UK - high court papers in relation to an abduction case of one of my children from 2012. In the judgement the judge has used information which was in this paper which my husband had no authority to use. He is not even the father of the child that was abducted. (international case) he used the court paper to show some movements I made during the abduction case which are within the court papers of the child case.

Question:
surely this can not be legal?

I was actually convinced that when the judge saw that my husband had included court documents of a child case from the high court the judge would not only ignore but reprimand my husband. No, the judge has used them by using information from those docs in the judgment against me. Information he could onl have known, such as the names (nick name) of one of my children which is only within those high court papers and no where else.

Can I mention this in my appeal document? is there any law against doing such? (using child court case docs by someone who is not a party to that case) in a case which has nothing to do with children?

Thank you I have only a few days left to get my appeal in (I think) so getting stressed. He made ruling on 13th May.

Thank you.
