What are we each entitled to in our divorce settlement?

What does the law say about how to split the house, how to share pensions and other assets, and how much maintenance is payable.

What steps can we take to reach a fair agreement?

The four basic steps to reaching an agreement on divorce finances are: disclosure, getting advice, negotiating and implementing a Consent Order.

What is a Consent Order and why do we need one?

A Consent Order is a legally binding document that finalises a divorcing couple's agreement on property, pensions and other assets.

Over the last 2 trips to court FDR and final hearing,, (not completed) it has been agreed that the house and other assets, not including the pension are to be split 50,50.
Can a judge go back on this decision.
Thank you

If you've come to agreement then the court will want to see that it is fair and may want to speak to you both especially if you are self repping.

If you don't come to an arrangement ultimately the court will impose an order upon you.

Thanks for coming back to me.
I have confused you, apologies.
The decision over the house and asset division was agreed in court and put in the court order.
So my question is can these orders already approved by the judge on the day be altered by the judge in his final judgment?

There isn't normally a judgement when the order is agreed as the judge's reasons for reaching the order are not required.
