Court hearing was created by Confused3
I hired a lawyer to apply for transfer the tenancy in proceeding of my divorce case, she charged me £1800 pounds and told me it is the cost until the first hearing. But she left the company before sending the application to the court and another lawyer in the same company took my case and applied for a hearing date for my application. The current lawyer ask me to pay extra £2100+ court fee £245 if I want her to represent me in court.

I am very upset with the extra charges and I am going to complaint for the legal regulatory.

But as the hearing date is approaching (in 3 weeks ), I am more concerned if I say no to the lawyer, what would happen? Will the lawyer cancel the hearing date ? Or the court hearing order will not be delivered to the respondent?

I have been waiting for the hearing date for more than 8 months. I do not mind representing myself in court. But I am just worried I will have no opportunities to go to court hearing if I refuse to pay the extra money the lawyer demanded. Please can anyone give me some advice.
