What are we each entitled to in our divorce settlement?

What does the law say about how to split the house, how to share pensions and other assets, and how much maintenance is payable.

What steps can we take to reach a fair agreement?

The four basic steps to reaching an agreement on divorce finances are: disclosure, getting advice, negotiating and implementing a Consent Order.

What is a Consent Order and why do we need one?

A Consent Order is a legally binding document that finalises a divorcing couple's agreement on property, pensions and other assets.

Hi,

I would be very very grateful if you could provide me advice and assistance on the following issue.

I have been divorced over a year, I have the absolute and we have a financial remedy (Inc pension sharing agreement) and Consent Order signed off by the court. Part of the agreement is that a percentage of the pension should be transferred to me. The pension sharing agreement was sent off to the pension company and they have rejected it; they have stated that it's due to the addressee details being filled in incorrectly and they have requested that this is rectified by the court before they will process it further. I contacted the courts via the email address several time requesting assistance and have heard nothing back. Then via recorded delivery letter requesting the amendments under the "Slip rule". Nothing has come back. (Not log of the request) It's such a simple amendment that is required. Who do I contact or direct my correspondence to utilise the slip rule. It's such a minor error and I've got nowhere in over 12 months with this so haven't been able to get the pension transferred to me.

I'm a LIP so didn't have a solicitor acting on my behalf.

Thanks for any help in advance on how to resolve this issue
