What are we each entitled to in our divorce settlement?

What does the law say about how to split the house, how to share pensions and other assets, and how much maintenance is payable.

What steps can we take to reach a fair agreement?

The four basic steps to reaching an agreement on divorce finances are: disclosure, getting advice, negotiating and implementing a Consent Order.

What is a Consent Order and why do we need one?

A Consent Order is a legally binding document that finalises a divorcing couple's agreement on property, pensions and other assets.

I was in a homeless hostel when I applied for divorce. So I put down my daughter's address. I got my own place after moving several places in homeless accommodation for a few years. I have never changed this address with the court as I spend 99% of my time at my daughter's house caring for a relative. I have always received all court letters there.

I now need to complete a statement of truth form 80E just before a Decree Nisi is issued. it asks for all addresses I have lived at. Do I really need to put down all these past addresses or I should stick with my daughters address instead??

I think if your daughter's address has been on the court record all this time there's probably no harm in just giving that. Do you use it for other correspondence?
