What are we each entitled to in our divorce settlement?

What does the law say about how to split the house, how to share pensions and other assets, and how much maintenance is payable.

What steps can we take to reach a fair agreement?

The four basic steps to reaching an agreement on divorce finances are: disclosure, getting advice, negotiating and implementing a Consent Order.

What is a Consent Order and why do we need one?

A Consent Order is a legally binding document that finalises a divorcing couple's agreement on property, pensions and other assets.

Hi, my FDR is in London. Can I get this moved to a court in north of England?

I live in Glasgow and have 3 school age children living with me. The logistics and expense of travel to London are too difficult to manage.

A virtual option wouldn't allow for the hour of face-to-face pre-court negotiations outlined in FDA.
Thanks

You'd have to make a D11 application for a change of venue or for the hearing to be via video.
Remote FDRs happen all the time. Pre court negotiations are conducted by telephone or other means such as zoom.
