What are we each entitled to in our divorce settlement?

What does the law say about how to split the house, how to share pensions and other assets, and how much maintenance is payable.

What steps can we take to reach a fair agreement?

The four basic steps to reaching an agreement on divorce finances are: disclosure, getting advice, negotiating and implementing a Consent Order.

What is a Consent Order and why do we need one?

A Consent Order is a legally binding document that finalises a divorcing couple's agreement on property, pensions and other assets.

Hi
The financial Directions appt was last Wednesday. Whilst the judge agreed to the Consent Order at the appt and set directions for FDR next year, I am still waiting for the judge to sign the consent order. Is this normal? We exchanged questionaires 2 wks ago and I need to respond to these and submit this to the court and my ex solictor by 5pm today. Also, do I send this via email to the courts ir upload to the website? I'm representing myself sadly.

Do you have a draft order? You should follow that. It can take a while for a sealed order to come through from the court.

As LIP you cannot upload things to the portal. There is a postal address in Harlow to which hard copies need to be sent if you are required by the Order to file as well as serve documents. It would have been sent with the Notice of First Appointment.
