What are we each entitled to in our divorce settlement?

What does the law say about how to split the house, how to share pensions and other assets, and how much maintenance is payable.

What steps can we take to reach a fair agreement?

The four basic steps to reaching an agreement on divorce finances are: disclosure, getting advice, negotiating and implementing a Consent Order.

What is a Consent Order and why do we need one?

A Consent Order is a legally binding document that finalises a divorcing couple's agreement on property, pensions and other assets.

Hello, I am totally unable to get hold of anyone at the court and am acting in person having run out money using a solicitor. My ex harrassed and threatened me to complete the D81 and Consent Order that suited her, after having a panic attack and nearly ending up in hospital I signed the forms and emailed them to her.

She has now submitted them to the court, and will not send me the versions she submitted, which is highly suspicious and part of a long pattern of controlling behaviour. I have no idea if any of the wording has been modified. I need to approve the release of funds from our house sale, but fear that as I dont know what was actually submitted this might be a mistake.

How do I get copies of the submitted documents? Emails to the court have gone unanswered for nearly two weeks and the call centre is a joke.

Thanks all.
