What are we each entitled to in our divorce settlement?

What does the law say about how to split the house, how to share pensions and other assets, and how much maintenance is payable.

What steps can we take to reach a fair agreement?

The four basic steps to reaching an agreement on divorce finances are: disclosure, getting advice, negotiating and implementing a Consent Order.

What is a Consent Order and why do we need one?

A Consent Order is a legally binding document that finalises a divorcing couple's agreement on property, pensions and other assets.

Hi, posting on behalf of my sister.

She had her first directions (FDA) and financial dispute resolution (FDR) hearings at one court. Her final hearing was initially listed for the same court but was cancelled and moved to another court, in a different town. This second date was also cancelled, and she now has a third date.

HOWEVER, the apoimtment letter she has been sent from the court says she is listed for an FDA.

Does this matter? Does she need to let them know, or will it just be changed to final hearing on the day as that is the stage she is at?? This current notification doesn't indicate that they have to update their disclosures or anything so I do genuinely think they have accidentally sent an FDA appointment???

Thanks!!

Probably best to ring the court to clarify.
