What are we each entitled to in our divorce settlement?

What does the law say about how to split the house, how to share pensions and other assets, and how much maintenance is payable.

What steps can we take to reach a fair agreement?

The four basic steps to reaching an agreement on divorce finances are: disclosure, getting advice, negotiating and implementing a Consent Order.

What is a Consent Order and why do we need one?

A Consent Order is a legally binding document that finalises a divorcing couple's agreement on property, pensions and other assets.

Had Proof hearing full day in court November, also since then because XTB didnt trap with paperwork we have had 3 more 1 hour hearings , and now postponed again until May, have already paid my lawyer £1,200 for full day hearing. but its the actual cost I am worried about how much the Sheriff will ask for , This has all been down to my XTB who has been stalling the case. has anyone any idea how much this is all going to mount to, and if they allow time to pay etc I do not have funds as they have been all eaten up with laywers fees, been trying for divorce for 10 yrs so you can imagine how much fees I have paid out. This has all be down to XTB not getting his pension sorted out. Help really getting worried now ....
