When to file decree absolute after financial order was created by Lin325
We had the FDR hearing yesterday and got a financial order approved by the judge. My ex husband agreed to pay a lump sum by the end of April. I realised that it is the end of tax year, we did not agree when they will file decree absolute. If they file it today, but the settlement money is supposed to come in a the end of April, then that will be a new financial year and I would have to pay tax. Does anybody know if by law they are supposed to wait until the money is transferred as this was a settlement based on needs? Thank you.
