I am attending my First Appointment on in less than 2 days to settle our financial issues post divorce. My ex and I have today reached an agreement. He still wants to attend this First Appointment as he seems to think the Judge will draft up an order for us both to sign and it will be done then and there. Is this the case?

Hi there,

It is unlikely that the Judge will draft the order for you although he may provide guidance or assistance. If you have legal representatives it may be best to draw one up and then ask for the hearing to be vacated to save on costs. If you are both self represented it may well be worth enquiring as to whether the Court has a pro bono service that will assist you on the day of your hearing in drawing up the Order?
