What are we each entitled to in our divorce settlement?

What does the law say about how to split the house, how to share pensions and other assets, and how much maintenance is payable.

What steps can we take to reach a fair agreement?

The four basic steps to reaching an agreement on divorce finances are: disclosure, getting advice, negotiating and implementing a Consent Order.

What is a Consent Order and why do we need one?

A Consent Order is a legally binding document that finalises a divorcing couple's agreement on property, pensions and other assets.

Hi good people of wikivorce

Simply put, I am a Litigant in Person and my ex''s solicitor is putting together a bundle for a final hearing next week. I do not yet have all the contents of the bundle but have the main sections as required by practice direction for family proceedings.

My questions are as follows. I wish to include some documents which will form part of my case i.e text messages, pictures etc which I wish to use in cross examination. Should/Can I have ex''s solicitor include this in bundle? If yes, must solicitor provide me with evidence they too will rely on in court? If No, how do I present these important documents as evidence in support of my case?

Thank you for your help as always.

The bundle that is relied upon by the parties is the same bundle that the Judge has. Where documents are included by a party, a copy of those documents has to be disclosed to the other side and included in the bundle for the judge.

You say this is a preliminary hearing in your subject line - is a bundle required in this instance?
