What are we each entitled to in our divorce settlement?

What does the law say about how to split the house, how to share pensions and other assets, and how much maintenance is payable.

What steps can we take to reach a fair agreement?

The four basic steps to reaching an agreement on divorce finances are: disclosure, getting advice, negotiating and implementing a Consent Order.

What is a Consent Order and why do we need one?

A Consent Order is a legally binding document that finalises a divorcing couple's agreement on property, pensions and other assets.

Hi, my partner has recently had his first appointment whereupon he was told by the judge to answer certain questions from his stbx''s form E questionnaire by a date she set.
The problem we have is that he now lives with me and in the past she had come to our old address and been very abusive to us both. This culminated in police intervention and an anti harassment warning being issued to her. I have a statement from the police saying it would be best if my address was not given to her.
Now the judge has requested this information does my partner just have to comply and reveal his home address? The court already have the address listed but it had been requested that the details remained confidential to her and her solicitor.
Ultimately what would be the consequence of not answering the judge''s request to inform her of where my partner is living.

Thanks

Hi JG & welcome

Is the judge aware of your situation? If not i would make them aware of this & respectfully asked that your address is not disclosed.

Good luck JJ

I personally would do this via your partner, as it may be seen as meddling coming from you (no offence)

Your partner could ring the court & ask what is best (court were really helpful to me), ask if you are best sending it prior to answers to his questionnaire questions, giving it as a reference note.

I am not one in the know legally, hope one could come on here soon, if not I would seek out Charles legal or Dukey & pm them re this, not sure best how to phrase it (to your best advantage)

JJ
