What are we each entitled to in our divorce settlement?

What does the law say about how to split the house, how to share pensions and other assets, and how much maintenance is payable.

What steps can we take to reach a fair agreement?

The four basic steps to reaching an agreement on divorce finances are: disclosure, getting advice, negotiating and implementing a Consent Order.

What is a Consent Order and why do we need one?

A Consent Order is a legally binding document that finalises a divorcing couple's agreement on property, pensions and other assets.

STBX is claiming I spent £110k on horses and house. I have managed to contact the companies involved and they have agreed to send duplicate invoices for work done, which in NO way is in the same league as the amount he''s claiming. Would it be a good idea to make sure judge and his solicitor sees them at FDR? Should I send them beforehand or keep them as an extra for court hearing?

If you have evidence and '' sit on it '' and produce it at the hearing like a rabbit out of a hat, when you could have produced it earlier, the Court is likely to view those tactics with disfavour and you risk an order for costs.

Oops. I suspect STBX already has copies anyway, but I suppose I could send him some anyway, don''t want to upset the court peeps.
Also, I''ve found out from the statements that I''ve received from him, that his mother has been paying his child maintenance. He apparently has also told our son that he (STBX) can only afford to buy him a new laptop cos I''ve cost him £2k in sol''s fees, but I haven''t found an account which has 2k in it, so I''m presuming his mother is paying that as well. I have asked for bank statements for last 12 months for account that this mysterious £250 each month is transferred from, so hopefully this should reveal all. This could be why I haven''t heard from him, plus the fact he''s buggered off on holiday with his almost third wife!
